“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” Isaiah 6:3
Do you ever find yourself so moved by a song on the radio or a piece of music in the ballet studio that you feel the need to dance to it? Or to cry? Isn’t music amazing when you really think about it? It moves us, it makes us think, it invites us to worship God, it inspires us, and it blesses us. I do not think I am the only one who occasionally breaks out into groovin in the car or jete-ing down the hallway when I am moved by music. As dancers, we feel the music, and we feel the need to move to it. God is so vast, creative, and beautiful to wire us that way. I also listen to singers, in awe of the gift that is their voice, and certain songs or voices give me goose bumps. Aren’t goose bumps the craziest thing? Those moments in life when you hear a beautiful song, or hear some good news from someone…..and you get goose bumps……how sweet is God to create goose bumps! Those sweet moments in life remind us that He is near, He is real, He loves us…..He is the Creator and the giver of every gift….
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
What gives you goose bumps? Write down the gifts of this day that you see. Name them one by one. Let the goose bumps point you to the holiness and goodness of our God…..
Here’s a song that gives me goosebumps and I hope it gives you goose bumps too:
Trust in Jesus by Third Day
“One of these days we all will stand in judgement for every single word that we have spoken.
One of these days we will stand before the Lord
Give a reason for everything we’ve done and what I’ve done
Trust in Jesus, my great Deliverer
My strong Defender, the Son of God
I trust in Jesus, blessed Redeemer
My Lord forever, the Holy One, the Holy One
What are you gonna do when your time has come
And your life is done and there’s nothing you can stand on?
What will you have to say at the judgement throne?
Well, I already know the only thing that I can say
I trust in Jesus, my great Deliverer
My strong Defender, the Son of God
I trust in Jesus, blessed Redeemer
My Lord forever, the Holy One
There’s nothing I can do
On my own to find forgiveness
It’s by His grace alone
I trust in Jesus, trust in Jesus”
Prayer: “Jesus, thank You that You are the Holy One, the Creator, and yet You choose to allow us to be in an intimate relationship with You. Thank You for the gift of music and of Your beautiful creation. May I be freshly amazed at the wonder of it all.”
