THE CURTAIN OF YOUR HEART

“Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my ROCK and my REDEEMER.” Psalm 19:12-14

The lights are ready, the audience is quiet, and the music begins. The audience sits, waiting, anticipating the beauty to come. Behind the curtain, a story waits to be told, a beauty waits to unfold, and a dance awaits to captivate hearts….

Jesus is waiting for you in the same way…..His light is ready, waiting to embrace your life, His quiet whisper sings over you, He sits, waiting and anticipating the beauty that He has for your life and the story He has for your life. His beauty for you is waiting patiently to unfold in your life. He wants to dance with you and captivate your heart.

I imagine we all have a curtain to our heart and to our soul that we often keep closed, not allowing anything or anyone completely in to. What things, what sins, are hiding behind the curtain of your heart? What do you struggle with that you would rather not anyone know about? Is it worry, insecurity, or pride? Is it a habit, is it a hobby? Is it jealousy, is it envy, is it the need to control….what is it for you? We all have something we are hiding….

What is the point of thinking of my sin? Jesus calls out to us and reminds us that our sin BLOCKS us from intimacy with Him….closeness to Him…..and when we let Him in, open the curtain of our heart and soul to let Him into EVERY corner of our heart, being honest with Him about our sin and letting Him help us with our sin….a new level of joy, peace, intimacy, and beauty awaits….He has more for you….

Now how can we know that He will love us when we are honest with Him about our sins….He is our ROCK and REDEEMER….

He has REDEEMED us….He has “cleared us by payment”…..on the cross…..He has “bought us” and “recovered” us…..His sacrifice cleanses you and me.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death….” Romans 8:1-2

So let Him in, accept His offer to dance with you, and let Him unfold His story for your life.

Prayer: “Amazing Lord, thank You that You are my ROCK and my REDEEMER….forgive my hidden faults, keep me from willful sins….may they not rule over me. Help me let go of those things that are holding me back from more intimacy with You.”
