“In repentance and rest is your salvation. In quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15
Sometimes in this frantic world, we feel too busy to stop and pray, as if when we stop, our world, our calendar, and our schedule will unravel. So we keep plowing away at our to-do list, as if constant movement will numb any desire we have for a deeper peace. We are afraid that if we stop to talk to God, He might point out our flaws. So we keep trudging on, trying to keep our hearts busy so we don’t have to think about the hard stuff.
Meanwhile, the Savior of the world waits patiently, knocking on the door of our hearts, waiting to provide us with all of the LOVE, GRACE, and PEACE we have been looking for. His grace is overwhelming. His love is endless. We look for answers to all of life’s questions and THE ANSWER is just waiting for us to BELIEVE.
He saves us eternally…what grace, what love, what mercy…that Jesus died so that we could live in heaven – this place our earthly hearts struggle to believe in, this place He is trying to prove to us over and over in little grace moments on earth: sunsets, rainbows, mountains, the birth of a baby, the love between a husband and a wife, a prayer answered…GRACE MOMENTS that point us to heaven.
At the same time, He waits for us to ask for His help in the day to day stuff…the littlest things: decisions, strength to overcome, problems…whatever it is. He wants to partner with us in this dance of life. He wants to take the lead of YOUR life. He doesn’t promise an easy life, but an abundant one…an adventure.
Don’t wait till you have all of life’s answers figured out…let Him in your heart and He will show you the answers. Sit with Him. Rest in Him…He has done the work of salvation…all you need to do is believe. Sit with Him awhile today and receive His peace, know He’s there, and ponder at the wonder of it all…
