“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
Comparison in a woman’s life stomps out joy. Comparison steals hope, dashes dreams, and depletes a woman’s passion for the things she thought God was calling her to. Sometimes our hearts need a little reminder….
Heart, You are one of a kind to God.
It may feel like others have the exact same dreams or plans that you do. It may appear as if your dreams are common, or you might question your purpose because it feels like you’re a carbon copy of other women. There will be moments when you feel just simply…like a normal gal, not an extraordinary one.
But heart, You need to remember, that you are extraordinary to God.
God doesn’t save His big plans for the people with big names, famous reputations, or for the most deeply spiritual. He doesn’t use the people who have it all together, who say the right things, look the right way, or are the best at everything.
Heart, You are incredibly unique to God.
In those moments, where you question yourself because you see others who seem more fit for the job, more qualified, more….whatever it is….hold on to this…
Heart, God assigns you to Your calling because it is the perfect fit for you.
Recognize when you are starting to compare. Recognize when you are starting to emotionally slide downhill because you are losing your confidence. And know this…
Heart, those moments when you feel yourself slipping, God is there to catch you and bring you back to where He wants you.
Following your calling, following the dreams in your heart that God has placed in your heart, will not always be easy, in fact, it will be incredibly challenging. But let the challenging moments of when you feel yourself wondering if you’re special, wondering if you have anything to offer to the world, wondering if God will use you, to let your heart be sensitive to others around you who might feel the exact same way.
Heart, be a passion-stirrer, not a passion-depleter.
Be the one to encourage another woman in her dreams. Be the one, to remind her that God’s got her. Be the one to remind a friend that God has a unique plan for her life, and let it gently remind you that He’s got you too. Just like the thousands of varieties of flowers that exist, may we realize that we are all unique in our callings. And may we be encourages….to help others bloom in the way God is calling them to bloom.
Heart, remember that God has a unique purpose, plan, and calling for your life, that looks different from others.
He wants to use You in amazing ways to bless others. He wants you to shine in your own unique way…it may look really different from others or it may at times look really similar, but don’t let it get you down when you feel “normal”. In the Bible, God used the seemingly ordinary people. God’s power shows up brighter in the seemingly ordinary.
Heart, you are nothing but ordinary.
God is right there with you, in every moment, every detail, to help you grow into an extraordinary woman of God.
Prayer: “Lord, in the moments where my heart wanders off and forgets Who I belong to, when I can’t remember how You feel about me, when I start to creep into discouragement… bring my heart, my thoughts, and my perspective back to Your gracious embrace. “
