“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ” Hebrews 11:1
Sometimes I forget that the reason FAITH is called FAITH is because it takes FAITH to believe what we cannot see. It’s like this ah-ha moment for me! Faith is supposed to sometimes feel hard, shaky, or uncertain. It’s okay to feel that way because as we talk about God and learn about Jesus…it takes FAITH to believe.
I feel a serious struggle in my faith moments before I go out onto the stage. Doubts like to try to creep in. Nerves start to escalate. Butterflies fill my insides. But in that moment, I also realize that leaping into things that are uncomfortable takes FAITH. And I am learning that the leaps of faith we take in life are the very things God uses to stretch us and mold us into the women He dreamt up.
It’s hitting me today, that we can pray for bigger faith. We can ask God to help us believe more, deeper, farther, and bigger. We can ask Him to increase our faith in Him. Sometimes I stumble around in my faith. Deep down, I know God is real. Deep down, I know Jesus is real. That part, for whatever reason, is not hard for me to believe. The part that is hard for me to believe is that He is actively at work in my life…right here, right now.
Have you felt a similar struggle in your faith? Do you find yourself questioning God, Jesus, His work in your life, or His care and love for you? You are not alone. Today, maybe we need to ask Him to stir up our faith a little bit. Maybe we need to invite Him in to convince us that He’s right here with us in whatever it is that we are facing.
I don’t know what leaps of faith you are taking in your life. I don’t know what’s ahead that seems so unknown and intangible. I don’t know how your faith in God…your belief that He is at work on your behalf and intimately cares about you…is going. But this I know…
He woos us…
“He is wooing you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place free from restriction…” Job 36:16
He is drawing us in, pursuing us, and chasing after our hearts in order to build our faith in Him.
Maybe you need a boost in your faith today. Just ask Him to stir up your faith. And let me know how He does that in your life. :)
