As Thanksgiving comes our way, this mama has been busy trying to soak it in….
I want to soak in moments of conversations with my three little boys, who before I know it are going to be three young men.
I want to soak in moments of hanging out with my hubby…simple evenings of catching up, of chilling out, and of just being together as a little tribe with our sons.
I want to soak in moments of the mundane…the things that sometimes seem not to matter, but when all is said and done, I realize that they do matter! (we’re talking the laundry….the simple routines of dishes to wash, beds to make, and floors to sweep) Something about the routine of the simple stuff…reminds my heart that the simple, quiet stuff no one sees…is often a sweet sanctuary of routine where our hearts can settle into the precious importance of home and family.
I want to soak in moments of God’s creation showing off…fall colors sweeping in, leaves gently falling, temperatures surely dropping…I want to soak in the miraculous among the mundane.
I want to soak in time with my Savior…the older I get, the more I learn, that I need lots of time with my Savior. I want to soak Him in, I want to really know His presence, I want to really hear His voice.
I want to soak in God’s whispers in a noisy world.
Is it possible to hear Him when things get so loud? When distractions seem so rampant?
I want to soak in truth that says, yes! It’s possible!
God speaks in whispers, but He WANTS us to hear Him.
Have you felt His nudges?
Have you felt His tugs at your heart?
I want to soak in His nudges, His tugs, and His closeness…because when we do…
it makes all the mundane and all the miraculous quite beautiful.
For He is always near us beckoning us to notice His presence…to feel His presence.
Maybe today you need to know that He is drawing YOU in…wooing YOU…beckoning YOU…to come sit down with Him…and truly rest. To truly KNOW His presence, His company, His friendship.
“Come to Me all You who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…” Matthew 11:28
Daughter, He invites YOU.
As Thanksgiving rolls in this week, I would love to hear…
What do you want to soak in?
