“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
As dancers, if we let go of our stomach muscles, we lose strength. It’s SO hard to hold in the abdominal muscles…to “lace them up” kind of like shoelaces…through the ribs and abs area…but it’s so key to strength. It’s so key to beautiful lines. A dancer works day in and day out at maintaining strong abdominal muscles because a strong core gives a dancer strength for her whole body as well as protection from injuries, specifically to the back.
I never did abdominal exercises just to have a flat stomach…I simply knew that a strong core meant a strong dancer. When I teach or coach a ballet student, it’s definitely one of my go to corrections… “Hold your core.” Because when the core goes loose, the whole body loses energy, loses strength….and the dancing loses its edge. Holding the core is vital to a dancer’s dancing.
Christmas is a time where we can easily lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. We can almost grow burdened with our to-do list, our shopping, and our planning. And we can grow bogged down with discouragement as we listen to the news or scroll through the newsfeed. We can so easily forget to HOLD onto our Hope.
May we dance through this Christmas season differently this year. May we hold unswervingly to the faith we profess, for He who promised is faithful. We can anchor our hope in Christ. We can have the hope of Christmas in our hearts every day of the year. May we remember that the most important thing we can do each day is to “hold our core”…or in this instance, hold onto our hope.
Daughter, where in your life, do you need to hold onto your hope? Christ is your hope. He is your eternal salvation. He is your constant companion. He is your counselor…
Prince of Peace.
Mighty God.
Holy One.
He is your constant hope always. Throughout the jingle bells may your heart keep tuned into Christ…holding on to Him as your perfect hope.
Hold onto your hope. Your Hope…Christ…is your Center. He is your Strength. He is your Anchor. And here’s the sweet thing…
He never lets go of you. He is ALWAYS with you. He is always holding your hand.
Hold onto Him by letting your heart fully embrace His presence in your life, dear one.
This Christmas will you let the Savior be your core? Your center? Your everything?
Prayer: “Sweet Lord, thank You for being my constant hope, anchor, strength, and center. You are my counselor and my companion. You are my Savior. Help me hold onto my hope in you this Christmas and every day of the new year.”
