“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:19
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3
Something that breaks my heart when I am watching a ballet class, coaching a dancer, or watching a performance is when I see a dancer who has lost their confidence. I have been that dancer…and I know just what it feels like.
Sometimes we just get lost in the tangled web of comparison or fear or insecurity and we just can’t seem to find our way back to confidence. That’s when the joy slips out of dancing…and a dancer must find her way back to dance with confidence again.
I sometimes want to take a dancer by the shoulders, look straight into her eyes, and give her a pep talk…I’ve done this on many occasions…
“YOU have what it takes. YOU are a beautiful dancer. YOU have a gift. YOU need to believe it.”
When a dancer sets aside the lies that she has been feeling and BELIEVES the truth about herself…
the confidence comes back, and we get to see her being herself…and that’s the most beautiful kind of dancing.
I don’t know where YOUR confidence has slipped in life, but the silver bells of Christmas are ringing for YOU sweet one….
YOU have what it takes. YOU are beautiful. YOU have a gift. YOU need to believe it.
I don’t know what your gift is…it may be dancing or it may be something else…but I am praying that this Christmas season you open THISÂ gift…YOU have been gifted by God. He has gifted YOU. Open that gift today. Let that sink in. And let Him fill you with the confidence you need to display your beautiful gifts.
When you use your gifts, you are administering God’s grace to others…I love that. And hold onto this…some of you may not know how God has gifted you…you wonder, like I have in the past, “How can God use me?” Know this…you can call to Him…and He will delight to show you…to “tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Call to Him.
He believes in YOU, sweet one. When you believe that…you will glow with confidence.
Prayer: “Sweet Lord, here is where I’ve lost my confidence….will You show me how You have gifted me to bring Your grace to others? Will You restore my confidence? Will you help me remember that You see me as beautiful…as perfectly fit for the gifts You have for me. Help me believe I was carefully designed by You. Help me dance through life with the confidence that I am loved by the God of the universe.”
