“Secure your pointe shoe ribbons”…that’s my greatest advice to ballet dancers on performance day, as well as my greatest secret weapon for a successful show. By secure, I mean sow the ribbons together at the knot with a needle and thread. I usually do three or four secure knots. Then I spray the knots with a good dose of hairspray. Every single time. Every single performance.
Because when we don’t secure our pointe shoe ribbons, they can so easily come undone. The worst thing ever for a ballet dancer is to be dancing beautifully onstage and then her ribbons just come undone! It’s an invitation to fall. It’s a distraction for the dancer.
What I love about securing my pointe shoe ribbons is that once I tie that final know and clip off the extra thread with my scissors, I know my pointe shoe ribbons are one less thing I have to worry about on stage. I don’t have to wonder if they are coming undone. I can enjoy the performance fully knowing they are secured.
Daughter of Christ, as Christmas morning unfolds, you can know that you are secure in Christ. You can know that He’s got you. You can know that He loves you. You can know that you will spend eternity in heaven with Him if you BELIEVE that He died on the cross for YOUR sins and rose again for YOU. On top of all that, you can know that He wants to dance with you through life…leading you, guiding you, and helping you.
You can rest assured that you are His daughter.
You can rest assured that He’s watching over you.

Jesus, for you personally.
Praying you know Him in a deeper way this Christmas as you see that He came in the form of a baby for YOU.
