I am so thankful for YOU. I think of each of you when I write. I think of where you are and how you are, and sometimes I am overwhelmed by all the words I want to give you…HIS WORDS…I want to give you simply to encourage your heart through this dance of life. What a dance it is! Sometimes the steps are hard, sometimes we can feel really lost, sometimes we leap through the fun times, but often our feet drag through the rough times. As summer begins, may I offer you a little retreat for your soul today?
YOU ARE THE WORK OF GOD’S HANDS.
Oh, I know the feeling…the feeling of TRYING HARD to make yourself something…the feeling of STRIVING to become better…the feeling of HUSTLING and TOILING about trying to be better at “Christian.” Oh I know this dance, and I know how it makes a heart feel heavy.
Today, may you remember that YOU ARE THE WORK OF GOD’S HANDS. You don’t have to TRY HARD to make yourself something. You don’t have to STRIVE to become better. You don’t have to HUSTLE and TOIL to try to be a better Christian.
Isaiah 64…tucked deep in the 8th verse, it says,
“O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay and You are our potter. We are all the work of Your hand.”
Instead of trying hard, what if He’s asking us to just be held?
Instead of striving, what if He’s asking us to be moldable?
Instead of hustling and toiling, what if He’s asking us to just be?
We are the work of His hands. You are the work of His hands. Our job? Our work? To stay in His hands.
Today, may you REST FULLY in the sweet knowledge that You are a royal, divine work of God. Let Him do the growing, the becoming, the bettering…let Him do a mighty work of art with your life.
