DANCE ON IN FAITH, BATTLE ON IN GRACE

 

We have an enemy who does not want us to walk in God’s purposes for us. He does not want us to live with joy, passion, love, and the light of Jesus. He does not want us to be gals who follow after God with all their hearts, minds, and souls.

So he pulls out every trick in the book to deceive, distract, and steal joy. Most times his tacts are subtle. He wants us to think it’s just us. It’s just us not doing good enough, not being our best, not trying hard enough, not being enough.

So we must remember that he’s lurking. I don’t think we need to dwell on it, but I believe we need to be aware of his schemes otherwise we run the risk of missing God, missing His purposes for us, and missing out on a joy that is ours for the taking.

So today, let’s think of life, yes, as a dance with God, but also as a battle. Let’s remember that we have the sword of the Spirit, God’s Word, and ultimately God Himself on our side at all times. Because we have Him, life can be full of dancing and feel less like a battle because we have the One who has overcome our enemy with us and for us at all times. So we dance on, knowing there’s a spiritual battle going on all the time, but also, we are captivated by the love of the Father every moment.

So what do we do to stay focused on our God, on His purposes for us, and to keep our joy rising? I wish I had a mapped out formula for us, a step by step dance, if you will, with all the steps perfectly laid out for us. But instead, all I know is this:

We serve the God of GRACE. And His battle plan for us is one of TRUST, FAITH, THE WORD, PRAYER, and SURRENDER. His battle plan for us is that we would allow Him to fight our battles for us. His battle plan for us is that we would keep dancing in step with His Spirit, trusting Him day by day, step by step, moment by moment. His battle plan for us is that we would invite Him into the daily battle to help us stay focused on Him, to walk in His purposes for us, and to preserve joy in us that He has so graciously given us.

So dancing daughter, don’t fret over this enemy that surrounds us. Don’t fret that there is a spiritual battle going on in and around us at all times. Know, that the One who created you fights for you. Know that He’s already won the battle for your salvation and for this world. Simply keep your antennae up. Keep your ears perked for the quiet whisper of God in your days. Tune your heart to His grace and know the power of God inside you as you trust Him moment by moment. Pray for the enemy to steer clear of you because you are a daughter in tune to her Savior. Refocus when you feel like you’ve gotten caught up in the enemy’s schemes. Every day, every moment, we can start fresh with God.

Life is a dance and a battle. But we always have God. We always have His strength. We always have access to His wisdom and love through His Word. We always have His presence. We do not have to live in fear. We can dance in grace, live with purpose, and know abundant joy.

So dance on in faith. Battle on in grace.
