I can hardly believe we are in the middle of August, and for a lot of us, a new school year is just around the corner. Junior high is upon the Marr household. My baby, Camp, is no longer a little one. He’s big and strong and funny and….old enough to go to junior high. So I’m going to let him go. :) I don’t feel sad as a mama, I feel excited for him. I won’t say I’m not a little nervous, but I’m mostly excited! And it got me thinking about you gals…
I believe God is excited for you for what He has around the corner in your life.
While you can’t see it or know it or dream it, He’s got good things coming your way. That doesn’t mean life is going to be easy or pain-free or like a frolick through a field of wildflowers, but it just means that His goodness and love are after you. (“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” Psalm 23:6) He’s pursuing your heart all of your days.
And while I sometimes wish I could hold Camp’s hand through junior high and protect him from everything, I can know deep in my heart that God is as close as his right hand and will never stop pursuing his heart. In the same way, while sometimes I wish I could be right there in your life to cheer you on, I know that God is as close as your right hand and He will never stop pursuing your heart.
Isn’t it sweet that He never stops pursuing us?
He’s always drawing us in.
He’s always whispering in a way, “I’m here.” (“Do not fear for I am with you…” Isaiah 41:10)
He’s always inviting us into His presence.
He never stops pursuing you.
I know He must be excited not only for the things He has in store for you in the coming months, but He’s excited to draw you closer and closer to Himself.
So, as you venture out into the next thing, remember:
He’s got good things for you ahead. (“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” Jeremiah 29:11)
He will never stop pursuing you. (Psalm 139)
He’s as close as your right hand. (“Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.” Psalm 73:23)
I’m excited for you, sweet ones!
