When a gal is searching for significance, she wants to know her future matters. She wants to know that her days are purposeful and her life is impactful. She wants to know that she’s living out God’s specific purposes for her.
But often, that search for significance can feel messy and wobbly. She loses her confidence. She’s unsure she’s really making a difference. She’s not sure what step to take next. Her heart feels a little wobbly. Her faith feels a little weak.
If that’s you today, I want you to hang onto this one, sweet truth:
He tenderly steers your heart.
The God of your heart is Shepherd of your heart and your life. And just as a shepherd of sheep tenderly steers, guides, and leads his flock, so God tenderly steers, guides, and leads you.
I know it often doesn’t feel like He’s leading. Maybe you wish you could just know for sure God is guiding your life. This is where faith comes in.
Faith doesn’t come naturally to our sometimes wobbly hearts. Faith is more like a muscle that strengthens over time. It’s not that we need to try harder to have a stronger faith. In my life, I’ve found that faith follows steps of faith. In other words, sometimes a step of faith builds our faith.
Too often, the lies we may be believing deep inside our hearts keep us from taking steps of faith and therefore keep us from growing in our faith.
In our search for significance, we can easily begin to believe the lie that we’re not enough, we’re not trying hard enough, we’re a mess, you name it…
Instead, our Shepherd and Steerer of our soul invites us to replace those lies with truth:
Daughter of God:
You are STRONG. (because He lives in you.)
You are CHOSEN. (He chose you.)
You have a GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE. (yep, you do!)
You are LOVED. (by the God of the universe)
Because of the Shepard and Steerer of your soul and life you are already beautiful, gifted, chosen, wonderfully you. You are enough, you are exactly as He made you, you are growing and transforming day by day into all that He created you to be, and He will equip you and steer you towards His purposes for your life.
You can live with confidence that your future matters, your days are purposeful, your life will be impactful, and you will walk in God’s specific purposes for you. You can step out in faith today when you stand on the firm foundation of the truth about how God sees you and how He’s steering your life.
Let Him steer you.
Let Him guide your heart.
He will never lead you astray.
Love and grace,
Sarah
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” Isaiah 58:11
