GOD CAN USE YOU NOW

I can’t remember where I was recently (this is why I have to write everything down!) but I was encouraged as a parent to see my children as little disciples for the kingdom of God. It’s coming back to me, I’m pretty sure it was at church! :) It’s easy to think of them as just kiddos now and that they will hopefully grow up to become lights in the world for Jesus. But this nudge to see them as little lights NOW…. whew…that really struck a chord in my mama heart. Yes, they’re growing up into men of God, but they are young men of God right now, today. They are little lights right this moment.

And I just want you to know the same is true of you.

Whether you’re 16 or 62 or 88, you’re a light for Jesus right now. You are His disciple, His messenger, and His ambassador TODAY.

I know we’re all on our own journey of becoming who God created us to be. We are all growing and changing more and more hopefully into His likeness. (“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18)

But remember today that you’re already a light, a disciple.

God is using you today to make a difference in the world around you. You are bringing Kingdom light to hearts around you right now. Today. In whatever state you are – whether you’re feeling like a mess, or like a puzzle that can’t quite get all her pieces together, or like a beautiful painting one day and a splatter of paint the next, you are a light right now.

God can use you now.

We see God in you today.

You are shining for Jesus today!

I think the message of our world is, “Become something great! Then you’ve really made it! Then you’ll be somebody!”

But I think the message of our Creator is that you are,

“children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation… you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” Philippians 2:15

You’re already shining.

You already carry the light of Christ in you.

You’re a light for Christ today.

I just wanted to make sure you knew that you are a light, you’re a disciple. Keep shining bright. Even as you’re growing, learning, changing, and becoming, God sees you as one of His shining lights TODAY.
