“My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” Psalm 42:2
I want to encourage your heart on the days when maybe you don’t feel God’s presence in your life. You may wonder where God went, if He’s still there….you may feel like your passion for God dissolved, your fire went out, or your zest for the things of God have become weighed down with…life.
I have a piece of encouragement I want to pass on to you….there will be days when you feel far away from God, where you can’t seem to find Him, hear Him, or feel Him. There will be days when your passion feels ho-hum, when your excitement feels worn down, and your heart feels heavy from your struggles…..
AND THAT’S OKAY.
If we were always on top of a spiritual mountaintop, we might never feel our need for a Savior. If we never came down from the mountaintop, we would never ache for relief.
Jesus doesn’t just revive our hearts once. He does it over and over and over and over and over and over and over again….
He keeps doing it…throughout your whole lifetime.
So in those moments, where you feel burnt-out in your faith, worn down a bit, whatever it is you feel…..
HOLD ON. Breakthrough from Jesus will come.
Ask Him. Tell Him how you feel. Then wait, watch, and wait, and watch some more.
He will renew you. He will restore you. He will make you dance with joy again when He reveals new promises to your heart and new revelations from His Word to your soul. And He will keep doing that.
You can’t ever wear out God. You can’t ever learn everything you need to know about God. He always has a fresh Word for you. He will always have fresh encouragement for your heart.
But know, that there WILL be days and moments, we ALL have them, when you feel spiritually dry. Hold on, dear sister or brother, because breakthrough will come….
YOU CAN COUNT ON IT.
Prayer: “Lord, when I can’t feel you, when I feel far away from you, remind my heart that again and again, you will revive my heart. Thank You that breakthrough, relief, and joy….are always on the way. How gracious and good You are.”
