“For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.'” Isaiah 41:13
I love dancing with a partner on stage. When the male dancer holds a ballerina just right on her leg, lifts her high into the air, and carries her across the stage effortlessly…it just makes my heart dance!
For a ballerina though, she has to trust her partner. And sometimes it’s really hard! Sometimes a ballerina wants to take the lead…she wants to be in control. But she has to trust. She has to let the male dancer lead. She has to trust that he knows where she needs to be, when she needs to be there. She has to trust that he knows what he is doing. When she does, beauty happens.
Same thing in this dance of life! We have the best dance partner! When we let the Lord lead our lives, beauty happens! But it’s hard to trust Him sometimes, isn’t it? It’s hard to truly give our lives over to Him completely, isn’t it? Sometimes…we just want to be in control. We just want to lead our own lives. We think we know best.
But we must remember…
He knows where we need to be.
He knows when we need to be there.
He knows what He is doing.
When we let Jesus lead, beauty happens.
Christmas comes around every year to remind us that Jesus leading our lives is how life works best. Christmas invites us to a deeper joy than maybe we have ever known before as we learn to let Christ lead our lives. We here the Christmas songs…
JOY TO THE WORLD THE LORD HAS COME
SILENT NIGHT, HOLY NIGHT
O COME, O COME, EMMANUEL
Are we taking to heart that He came for us…personally…to us…to me…to YOU. And when we let Him lead…our hearts dance eternally.
Will you trust your Partner in life? Your Savior?
Prayer: “Sweet Lord, I’m starting to see it. You want to lead my life. You came, not just to save me eternally, but to dance with me through life. You are always holding me hand.”
Donna Jenkins says
